Thursday, February 4, 2021 - Daily Weather Discussion

A little snow and rain tomorrow morning into early afternoon and then we have to watch Sunday…

Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 30’s.

Tomorrow, rain and snow will develop in the morning from west to east, ending in the afternoon and evening from west to east as a cold front passes through our area. A trace to an inch of accumulation  will be possible in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange, Rockland, and Putnam Counties in NY State, and a trace to an inch or two possible in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Sunday, it had looked as if we might have a big snowstorm Sunday, then it looked as if it would head out to sea safely, now it is coming back to some degree, not yet enough that I need to raise alarms, but enough that it raises some eyebrows. I will keep a close eye on this situation and let you know if we need to ring those alarms. As of right now that is not necessary, but I am watching closely. What is going on is that one disturbance is approaching from the west, while another is moving through the Gulf of Mexico. The uncertainty is with how much these two disturbances will interact. If they interact enough the disturbance will come up the coast. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Monday will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.

Tuesday there will be a chance of rain or snow showers as a cold front and disturbance approach our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Wednesday and next Thursday, February 11th, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s Wednesday and the 20’s to low 30’s next Thursday.

Next Friday, February 11th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower as a disturbance may approach our area. Highs will be in the 20’s.

Next Saturday, February 12th, through next Tuesday, February 16th, are then looking nice with highs gradually rising from the upper teens to mid 20’s next Saturday, to the 20’s next Sunday, the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Monday, and the low to mid 30’s next Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, February 17th, is looking variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the 30’s.
