Remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa likely to affect our area Friday morning...


Tropical Storm Elsa is currently in the Southeastern Gulf of Mexico, just north of Cuba and Southwest of Key West, Florida. Elsa will track northward, making landfall along the Florida Coast, north of Tampa tomorrow morning. Elsa will then continue tracking northward, reaching our area Friday morning. Today through Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. It will be hot today and tomorrow with highs in the mid 80’s to mid 90’s, dropping a touch to the 80’s Thursday.


Friday, there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms, possibly heavy at times in the morning, as the remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa may pass through our area.  Things will then start to clear out in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.


Saturday will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.


Sunday through next Tuesday, July 13th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s Sunday and the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Monday and next Tuesday.


Next Wednesday, July 14th and next Thursday, July 15th will be variably cloudy with highs in the 80’s next Wednesday and the mid to upper 80’s next Thursday.


Next Friday, July 16th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s.


Next Saturday, July 17th through next Monday, July 19th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Saturday and Sunday, and the upper 70’s to low 80’s next Monday.
