Hurricane Ida is likely to do serious damage as she makes landfall on the Louisiana coast Sunday night into Monday morning and may then bring our area some showers late next week…

Hurricane Ida has developed and will be moving into the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow morning after passing over Western Cuba tonight. Ida will then continue northward, reaching Tennessee by Wednesday morning and then will turn eastward slowly, reaching the Middle Atlantic Coast next Friday or Saturday, then exiting east off the coast and clearing us out for next Sunday, September 5th and Monday, September 6th (Labor Day).

Hurricane Ida may become a major hurricane prior to making landfall on the Louisiana Coast, which could cause serious damage. Click here for the latest on Hurricane Ida from the National Hurricane Center.

Tonight, will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms.

Tomorrow there will be rain, and it could be heavy at times in Central and Southern NJ as a disturbance passes south of our area. The rain will end in the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the low to mid 70’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Monday will be variably cloudy with a chance of afternoon or evening showers or thunderstorms as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Tuesday will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Wednesday through next Saturday, September 4th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as the remnants of Hurricane Ida and a cold front slowly approach and then pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Next Sunday, September 5th, through next Thursday, September 9th are then looking nice with highs in the 70’s next Sunday, dropping to the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Monday through Wednesday, then rising to the 70’s next Thursday.
