Saturday, August 7, 2021 - Daily Weather Discussion


A strong disturbance will be passing through parts of our area tonight through tomorrow, bringing flooding rain to parts of our area…


A strong disturbance is developing along the Middle Atlantic Coast this evening and will slowly move northward through our area, causing heavy rain to develop tonight and continue through much of the day tomorrow in Southern and Central NJ, and on Eastern Long Island, with lighter rain in Southeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY state, NYC, and on Western Long Island. It will also become windy in Southern and Central NJ with gusts up to 35 mph possible. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Monday, the rain will end on Long Island and in Fairfield County, CT, then it will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as the disturbance finally pulls away from our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.


Tuesday will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of an inland afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s.


Wednesday and Thursday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of an inland afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 80’s to low 90’s.


Friday through the following Friday, August 20th, will then be variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will gradually fall from the mid 80’s to low 90’s Friday, to the 80’s next Saturday, the low to mid 80’s next Sunday, the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Monday and Tuesday, and the mid 70’s to low 80’s next Wednesday and Thursday, then will rise slightly to the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Friday.
