Category 4 Hurricane Ida will be making landfall shortly in Louisiana and then passing through our area Wednesday into Thursday morning…

Hurricane Ida will make landfall on the Louisiana Coast today as a major category 4 hurricane. There will be substantial damage in the path of Ida through Louisiana, and possibly much further north and east along her path. Ida will pass through our area Wednesday into Thursday morning, potentially bringing heavy flooding rain and gusty winds to our area. Click here for the latest on Ida from the National Hurricane Center.

Today will be cloudy with a chance of light rain or drizzle as a weak disturbance passes south of our area. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70’s.

Tomorrow will be cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm from the morning into the evening as a weak cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Tuesday will then be variably cloudy behind the cold front with highs in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Wednesday rain will develop in the morning, becoming heavy at times at night, and it will become windy, as Ida approaches our area, probably as Tropical Storm or Tropical Depression strength.  There could be some flash flooding. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Thursday the rain will end in the afternoon and evening from west to east, and it will be windy, as Tropical Storm or Tropical Depression Ida departs to our east. There could be some flooding. Highs will be in the low 70’s.

Friday through next Monday, September 6th (Labor Day), will then be nice with highs gradually rising from the upper 60’s to mid 70’s Friday, to the low to mid 70’s Saturday, and the 70’s next Sunday and Monday.

Next Tuesday, September 7th, through next Saturday, September 11th, are currently looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the low to mid 70’s.

Have a fantastic day!
