Thursday, August 19, 2021 - Daily Weather Discussion

Tropical Storm Henri could become a hurricane as he approaches our area this weekend…

Tropical Storm Henri is currently situated east of the Bahamas and south of Bermuda, with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph, which is just short of hurricane strength. Henri will move northward, reaching a point east of NJ by about Saturday night. It then remains uncertain as to whether Henri will continue to move northward, possibly missing the East Coast this weekend, or turn northwestward, approaching our area or New England.  It currently appears more likely that Henri will remain east of our area, but there is a chance it could turn northwestward, threatening our area. We will need to watch this track of Henri closely. Click here for the latest on Tropical Storm Henri from the National Hurricane Center.

The rest of today will be variably cloudy with any showers ending. Highs will be in the upper 70’s and 80’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of shower in Central NJ as a disturbance approaches our area from the west. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Saturday and Sunday are currently looking cloudy with a chance of rain as the disturbance form the west passes through our area and Henri could also bring some precipitation to our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Saturday and the upper 70’s to low 80’s Sunday.

Monday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as the disturbance and possibly Henri depart our area. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will then be nice with highs in the 80’s.

Next Thursday, August 26th and next Friday, August 27th, are then looking variably with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm as a cold front slowly approaches from the west. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Thursday and the mid 70’s to low 80’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, August 28th, is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Next Sunday, August 29th, through next Wednesday, September 1st, are currently looking nice with highs gradually rising from the 70’s next Sunday, to the mid to upper 70’s next Monday, the mid 70’s to low 80’s next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Have a fantastic day!
