Thursday, September 9, 2021 - Daily Weather Discussion


Showers and thunderstorms could cause some flooding today near the NJ Coast and on Long Island, then nice till next weekend when a tropical system could affect our area…


A cold front is slowly passing through our area today and will cause showers and thunderstorms to end this morning in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Southeastern NY State (except possibly Westchester County), but continuing into the night in Southern and Central NJ, NYC, on Long Island, and in Fairfield County, CT, and possibly in Westchester County, NY. The rain could be heavy at times along the NJ Coast and on Long Island, which could cause some flooding in those locations. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.


Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT. Highs will range from the mid 60’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 70’s in Central NJ.


Saturday and Sunday will then be nice with highs in the 70’s Saturday, rising to the upper 70’s to mid 80’s Sunday.


Monday will be variably cloudy with just a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm as a weak cold front passes through our area. Highs will range from the mid 70’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 80’s in inland Central NJ.


Tuesday through next Thursday, September 16th will then be nice with highs gradually rising from the 70’s Tuesday, to the mid 70’s to mid 80’s Wednesday, and the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Thursday.


Next Friday, September 17th will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a tropical disturbance may approach our area from off the Southeastern Coast of the United States. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.


Next Saturday, September 18th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the tropical disturbance may approach our area from the south. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.


Next Sunday, September 19th, and next Monday, September 20th, will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.


Next Tuesday, September 21st, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.


Next Wednesday, September 22nd, will be variably cloudy with highs in the 70’s.
