Friday, January 7, 2022 - Daily Weather Discussion


Snowfall totals posted.   Lake Effect snow this afternoon and evening and then cold tomorrow and then warmer with showers developing Sunday, then colder and very cold Tuesday…


Received 4.5 inches of snow at my location in Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County, NJ.

This afternoon and evening will be variably cloudy with a chance of some Lake Effect snow showers and flurries this afternoon and evening that could leave a coating to an inch of snow in some locations. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.


Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 20’s and low 30’s.


Sunday, showers will develop from northwest to southeast throughout the day, starting in the morning in Northeastern PA, and in the late afternoon along the NJ Coast and on Long Island, ending in the late afternoon and evening from northwest to southeast as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.


Monday will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.


Tuesday will be mostly sunny and very cold with highs ranging from the upper single digits in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper teens in Central NJ.


Wednesday through next Friday, January 14th, will then be nice with highs in the 20’s Wednesday, the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Thursday, and the 30’s Friday.


Next Saturday, January 15th, clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing in the afternoon or evening as a disturbance may develop along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.


Next Sunday, January 16th, there will be a chance of rain or snow ending in the morning and early afternoon from west to east, as the disturbance heads east away from our area. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.


Next Monday, January 17th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.


Next Tuesday, January 18th, and next Wednesday, January 19th, will then be nice with highs in the 30’s.


Next Thursday, January 20th, clouds will increase with a chance of snow developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 30’s low 40’s.
