Saturday, January 29, 2022 - Daily Weather Discussion

As much as 17 inches reported along the NJ Coast and 22 inches on Central Long Island, next up will be warming with rain on Thursday, then getting rapidly cooler Thursday night with the rain possibly changing to snow Friday morning…

The storm was a difficult one to forecast with he models all over the place leading up to the storm, but in the end, the European model did the best, although snow amounts were a little high on the western edge of the storm, with snowfall amounts a bit less than expected in Western sections, but for the most part as expected further east.

Tomorrow will be cold, but then it will gradually warm until Thursday when rain will develop ahead of an approaching cold front.

The rain may then change to snow Thursday night before ending Friday morning as some cold air moves in behind the front.
