A very significant snowstorm may very well bring more than a foot of snow to Southern NJ tomorrow, but how about further north? My best guess is posted...
Today there will be a chance of some sprinkles early this afternoon, then it will be variably cloudy and warm with highs ranging from the mid to upper 40’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 50’s to low 60’s in Central and Southern NJ.
A strong cold front will be passing through our area this evening, bringing much colder air to our area. Meanwhile, a strong disturbance is currently developing in the Southeastern United States and will push northeastward overnight, strengthening as it does so and developing into a Nor’easter off the Virginia Capes and Delmarva Peninsula tomorrow morning. This will bring heavy snow to far Southeastern PA, Southern NJ, and Eastern Long Island tomorrow, ending in the afternoon and early evening from west to east. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.
There will be a fine line between very heavy snow and absolutely zero snow on the northern fringe of this storm. My best guess as to snowfall amounts is below.
Flurries possible: Northeastern PA, Northwestern Orange County, NY, Northern Fairfield County, CT
A trace to a coating possible: East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Southern Orange, Rockland, and Putnam Counties and Northern Westchester County, in NY State, and Southern Fairfield County, CT,
A trace to an inch or two possible: northern portions of Southeastern PA, West Central NJ, Northeastern NJ, NYC, Southern Westchester County in NY State, North Shore of Western Long Island
1-3 inches possible: Central portions of Southeastern PA, Central portions of West Central NJ, Northern sections of East Central NJ, southern portions of Western Long Island
3-6 inches possible: southern sections of Southeastern PA, southern sections of West Central PA, central portions of East Central NJ, Central Long Island
6-12 inches possible: far Southeastern PA (Philadelphia area), northern portions of Southwestern NJ, southern sections of East Central NJ, Eastern Long Island
12-18 inches possible: the rest of Southern NJ
