A bit of snow and freezing rain this morning could cause some slippery roads…
A disturbance is currently developing off the coast of the Southeastern United States. This disturbance will move northeastward but will remain far enough off the coast to just give us some light precipitation today into early tomorrow along the coast and on Long island. This morning this precipitation will fall as light snow and light freezing rain in many locations with a coating of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation possible, which could cause some slippery roads this morning.
Tomorrow through Saturday are then looking nice.
Sunday there is a slight chance that two disturbances will come together along the Middle Atlantic Coast, forming a Nor’easter, and bringing a chance of some snow Sunday afternoon into early Monday. But right now, this is a slight chance, so we will have to wait and see what happens.
After this threat passes, the next situation to watch will be an approaching cold front and associated disturbance timed for next Thursday and Friday.
Have a fantastic day!
