Significant snow and ice in a large part of our area tonight into tomorrow morning….
A cold front moved through our area last evening, bringing cold air back into our area after the beautifully warm day yesterday.
A strong disturbance will start approaching our area today, bringing a coating of snow to parts of our area today, and much more significant precipitation tomorrow, in the form of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain throughout our area. The precipitation will start from around 10 pm to 2 am from southwest to northeast tonight and will end tomorrow from around 10-11 am in Northeastern PA to 12-1 pm in Fairfield County, CT, and on Eastern Long Island.
Total possible snowfall accumulation:
Trace to a coating possible: Southeastern PA, Southern NJ, Central NJ (south of roughly Rt. 78), Staten Island, Southern half of Long Island
Coating to 1-2 inches: East Central PA, Northern NJ roughly south of Rt. 80, NYC, northern half of Long Island
1-3 inches: Southern portions of Northeastern PA, southern portions of Northwestern NJ, Northeastern NJ, Southern Westchester County in NY State
3-6 inches: northern portions of Northeastern PA, far northwestern NJ, Rockland and Northern Westchester Counties in NY State, and Southern Fairfield County, CT
4-8 inches: Orange and Putnam Counties in NY State and Northern Fairfield County, CT
Significant ice accumulation possible: Southeastern and East Central PA, Northern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY State, and in Fairfi9eld County, CT.
