Friday, May 6, 2022 - Daily Weather Discussion

 

Rain developing this morning, becoming heavy at times tonight in parts of our area this evening, a rainy Saturday, and cool today through the weekend…


Rain will develop this morning from west to east as a strong disturbance approaches from the west. The rain could become heavy a times this evening in parts of our area. It will be cooler today with highs only in the low to mid 50’s. It will also become windy tonight in Central and Southern NJ, and possibly on Long island, with gusts up to 40 mph possible. There could be flooding this evening in parts of our area.


Tomorrow there will be rain as the disturbance slowly passes through our area. It will be cool, with highs only in the mid 40’s to low 50’s. It will also be windy in Central and Southern NJ, and possibly on Long Island, with gusts of up to 50 mph possible. There could be flooding in parts of our area with total rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches in most of our area.


Sunday through next Saturday, May 14th, are currently looking dry as the disturbance should hopefully remain just far enough south and east of our area. Temperatures will gradually warm from the low to mid 50’s Sunday, to the mid 50’s to low 60’s Monday, the upper 50’s to mid 60’s Tuesday and Wednesday, the mid 60’s to low 70’s Thursday, the mid 60’s to mid 70’s next Friday, and the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Saturday.


Next Sunday, May 15th, through next Wednesday, May 18th, are currently looking variably cloudy with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm each day. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.


Next Thursday, May 19th, will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.
