Wednesday, December 28, 2022 - Daily Weather Discussion

 

Nice and warmer tomorrow and Friday, then rain developing New Year’s Eve, but remaining warm into the middle of next week with more rain the middle of next week…


Things were really crazy on Friday with temperatures going from the 50’s in the morning to the single digits at night. This was the biggest temperature difference ever recorded in one day in Central Park, NY.  And the wind knocked down trees and branches all over the place, causing power outages. Some places even got some snow in the afternoon. It was a crazy day.


Moving forward, tonight through Friday will be nice with temperatures rising from the mid to upper 40’s tomorrow to the upper 40’s to mid 50’s Friday.


New Year’s Eve, rain will develop in the afternoon and evening as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be int eh mid 40’s to mid 50’s.


New Year’s Day and Monday will then be nice with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s New Year’s Day and the mid 40’s to low 50’s Monday.


Tuesday, rain will develop in the morning as a cold front slowly approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.


Next Wednesday, January 4th, there will be a chance of rain as the cold front continues to slowly approach from the west, with disturbances riding along the front. Highs will be in the 50’s to low 60’s.


Next Thursday, January 5th, there will be a chance of rain, possibly some snow in Northeastern PA, as the cold front and a disturbance pass through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s and 40’s.


Next Friday, January 6th, through next Tuesday, January 10th, are currently looking nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Friday through Monday, and the low to mdi 40’s next Tuesday.
