Saturday, February 25, 2023 - Weather Discussion

March is approaching and so are chances for snow…

Well, our first chance for significant snow throughout most of our area appears to be Monday night as a disturbance will pass through our area, causing snow to develop Monday late afternoon and mainly Monday evening into Tuesday morning. There will likely be a mixture of rain and snow along the NJ Coast, changing to rain.

Total possible snowfall accumulation:

Trace to an inch possible:  Near the Central NJ Coast

1-3 inches possible:  East Central NJ, NYC, Long Island

2-5 inches possible:  West Central and Northeastern NJ

3-6 inches possible:  East Central PA, Rockland, Westchester and Putnam Counties in NY State and Fairfield County, CT

4-8 inches possible:  Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange County, NY

After this disturbance passes our next chance for significant snow will be Friday as a storm system will develop in the Tennessee River Valley and then move northeastward through our area.  It is still much too early to tell where the rain or snow line will develop with this storm, but there is again the chance for significant snow in parts of our area.
