Sunday, February 26, 2023 - Weather Discussion

The first significant snowfall of the season is on the way for much of our area tomorrow night and keeping an eye on Friday…

The first significant snowfall is on the way for many people in our area tomorrow night as a disturbance passes through our area, bringing snow for most of us, but there will be some rain in far Southeastern PA and along the NJ Coast, and in Southern NJ.

The snow will start in the evening from west to east and end early in the morning from west to east, with a chance of a rain or snow shower Tuesday.

Total possible snowfall accumulation:

A trace to an inch:  far Southeastern PA, Southern and Coastal NJ

1-4 inches: the rest of Southeastern PA, East Central NJ, NYC, Long Island

3-6 inches:  West Central and Northeastern NJ

4-8 inches:  East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Rockland, Westchester, and Putnam Counties in NY State, and Fairfield County, CT

5-10 inches:  Northeastern PA, Orange County, NY

The next disturbance we will need to keep an eye on will be a disturbance that will develop in the Tennessee River Valley Thursday, passing through our area Friday. This will bring our area another chance for either rain or snow Friday depending on the exact track of the storm. This storm also has the potential to be even stronger that the one tomorrow night, so we will need to keep a close eye on it.
