Wednesday, February 1, 2023 - Weather Discussion

Snow ending this morning with up to an inch of snow possible in parts of our area and then COLD Friday and Saturday before warming again…

A disturbance developed last night along the cold front to our south, bringing our area some surprise snow this morning, with up to an inch of accumulation in parts of our area.

The next story will be the cold Friday and Saturday as the Polar Vortex moves as far south as New England, bringing our area highs on Friday only in the mid teens to mid 20’s, and lows Saturday morning as low as the mid single digits in Northeastern PA, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY State, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, to the mid single digits in Central NJ and NYC, and rising only to the low to mid 20’s Saturday.

Temperatures will then quickly warm to the mid 40’s Sunday, cool a bit Monday again, then rise to the mid 40’s to low 50’s Tuesday, the mid 40’s to mid 50’s next Wednesday, and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Thursday and Friday. There will also be a chance of rain next Thursday into Friday morning as a disturbance passes through our area.
