Monday, March 13, 2023 - Weather Discussion

Rain and snow today changing to snow tomorrow with significant accumulations in parts of our area…

There will be rain and snow in parts of our area today that will change to snow tomorrow as a Nor’easter develops off the Middle Atlantic Coast. Any rain will gradually change to snow tonight and especially tomorrow throughout our entire area. The very heavy snowfall totals from yesterday appear to be largely off the table now as the heaviest moisture appears to be shifting north of our area, so I have reduced potential snowfall totals accordingly.

Total possible snowfall accumulation:

A trace to an inch or two possible:  Southeastern PA, Central NJ and NYC

1-3 inches possible:  East Central PA, sections of NJ between roughly Rt. 78 and Rt. 80 in NJ, and on Long Island

2-8 inches possible:  Northeastern PA, far northern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY, Southern Fairfield County, CT

5-10 inches possible:  Orange and Putnam Counties in NY State and Northern Fairfield County, CT

After this storm passes temperatures will gradually warm to the 50’s by Friday with a chance of a shower Friday night into Saturday morning as a cold front passes through our area.

The next chance for rain or snow will then be next Wednesday as another disturbance passes through our area.
