Wednesday, March 15, 2023 - Weather Discussion

Storm again worked out largely as expected in the end, next up warming to 60 in parts of our area Friday with a chance of showers in the evening, and then another chance for rain or snow next Wednesday…

This storm was extremely difficult to predict snow amounts for as we were on the southern end of the system and there were a ton of variables as well. In the end, it did work pretty much in line with my final forecast. Of course nothing is perfect, but I did get 2.5 inches at my house in Tewksbury, Hunterdon County, 6 inches in Randolph, Morris County, 9 inches in Vernon in Sussex County, and 17 inches in Lake Carmel in Putnam County, NY.

Moving forward, temperatures will warm to 60 degrees Friday in parts of our area as warm air surges northward into our area ahead of an approaching cold front that will bring us a chance for some showers Friday evening.

The next thing storm we will need to watch will then be next Wednesday as a system approaches our area from the Southeastern United States, bringing a chance of rain or snow next Wednesday.

Then another disturbance will approach our area with a chance for showers next Friday into Saturday.
