Sunday, December 31, 2023 - Weather Discussion

A rain or snow shower, sprinkle, or flurry tonight, light snow, snow showers, or flurries possible Thursday and then watching next Saturday night into Sunday morning…

There is a chance of a rain or snow shower, sprinkle, or flurry tonight and then the next thing to watch will be the chance for some light snow, snow showers, or flurries Thursday as a couple of weak disturbances pass through our area. There is a chance of some light snowfall accumulation in places on Thursday.

A significant storm is then likely to approach next Saturday night into Sunday morning. Two pieces of energy will be approaching our area. One from the Northern Gulf of Mexico, and another from the west. There interaction of these disturbances will determine whether we have a big rainstorm, a big snow storm, or a combination of the two, which is currently looking like the most likely scenario, with heavy snow possible in far northwestern parts of our area, and rain likely in the southeastern sections, with a combination of rain and snow in between.
