Sunday, October 6, 2024 - Weather Discussion

Chance for a shower or thunderstorm late tonight into early tomorrow morning, and then all eyes turn to another potentially devastating hurricane for Florida…

The big story this week will be Hurricane Milton which will be making landfall along the West Cost of Florida, likely somewhere between Naples and New Port Richey. There is the potential for Milton to become a major hurricane, with devastating storm surge to the southeast of where the eye makes landfall and then devasting flooding throughout most of the Florida Peninsula, especially in Central Florda. Milton will then likely head eastward through Central Florida and out to sea, leaving the rest of the United States unaffected.

There will be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm late tonight into early tomorrow morning as  a cold front passes through our area. There is a slight chance that some of the thunderstorms could be severe.

It will then be a bit cooler but dry into next week with morning lows reaching the 40’s in much of our area Tuesday through Saturday and highs mainly in the 50’s to mid 60’s Tuesday through Friday, but reaching the 70’s Saturday.

it may remain dry in our area through next Saturday, October 19th with highs dropping from the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Sunday, to the upper 50’s to mid 60’s next Monday through Wednesday, then rising to the 60’s next Thursday and the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Friday and Saturday.
