Saturday, January 13, 2024 - Weather Discussion

 

Snow showers or flurries likely tomorrow, then colder with a chance for some light snow Tuesday and possibly again Friday…


Temperatures will drop throughout the day today, followed by a chance of some snow showers tomorrow that could leave a coating of snow in Northwestern sections.


Monday will then be nice but much colder with a chance for some light snow or snow showers Tuesday and again Friday, and remaining cold through next weekend.


It will then be warmer the following week with a chance for rain next Thursday and Friday, January 25th and 26th.

Here we go again, flooding and strong winds tonight, then colder with a chance of snow Tuesday and next Friday…


Well, here we go again. A strong disturbance and cold front will pass through our area tonight into early tomorrow, brining heavy rain and strong winds to our area. Rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches are possible in some locations and wind gusts of up to 55 mph tonight into early tomorrow morning.


There will be a chance of an afternoon or evening snow shower or flurry Sunday as a strong cold front passes through our area.


Tuesday and next Friday we have about a 50% chance of snow as some disturbances will approach our area. 


It will also be quite cold Monday through next Sunday.

More heavy rain and strong wind tomorrow night into Saturday morning will cause some problems and then a chance for some snow Tuesday…


There will be more heavy rain and strong wind tomorrow night into early Saturday as a strong disturbance and cold front pass through our area.

This will be followed by a chance for an afternoon or evening snow shower, snow squall, or flurries Sunday afternoon as some Lake Effect moisture may reach our area.


Then there will be a chance for snow developing Tuesday morning and ending Tuesday night as a disturbance passes southeast of our area, with a repeat performance possible next Friday.


It will also be quite cold Monday through the following weekend.

Heavy rain and strong winds tonight will likely cause some serious problems, with more heavy rain likely Friday night, although nowhere near as bad as tonight, followed by a chance for snow on Tuesday…


There will be heavy rain and strong winds tonight with 1.5 to 3 inches of rainfall throughout our area and then it will become windy at night with gusts up to 55 mph possible in Eastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, up to 65 mph possible in Southwestern and Northeastern NJ, and NYC, and up to 75 mph possible along the NJ Coast and on Long Island.  There could also be up to 2 inches of snow in the higher eleva4tions of Northeastern PA at the start. 


Flooding and power outages are a real possibility with the strong winds and heavy rain.

It will remain cold but nice next Wednesday January 17th through next Monday, January 22nd.

 Flooding rain and damaging wind likely Tuesday night…


Ok, next up will be a strong disturbance and cold front approaching from the west and passing through our area Tuesday night.


First though, today will be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.


Tomorrow, clouds will increase with rain and snow developing in the late morning and afternoon from west to east, becoming heavy at times at night, with flooding likely as 1.5-3 inches of rain will be likely. There will also likely be damaging winds, with gusts of up to 55 mph possible inland and up to 65 possible along the coast and up to 80 mph possible on Eastern Long Island. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s at night.


Wednesday the rain will end early in the morning, then it will be variably cloudy with a chance of a sprinkle or flurry. Highs will be in the upper 30’s and 40’s.

Thursday will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.


Friday, clouds will increase with rain developing in the evening from southwest to northeast, possibly becoming heavy at times at night as another strong disturbance and cold front approach from the west. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.


Saturday the rain will end early in the morning with highs ranging from the upper 30’s to low 40’s in Northeastern PA to the low 50’s in East Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island.


Sunday and next Monday, January 15th, will then be nice with highs in the upper 20’s and 30’s next Sunday, and the mid 20’s to mid 30’s next Monday.


Next Tuesday, January 16th, there will be a chance of snow as a disturbance passes just southeast of our area. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.


Next Wednesday, January 17th, through next Sunday, January 21st, will be nice with highs in the 20’s to mid 30’s.
