Wednesday, January 15, 2025 - Weather Discussion

A bit of snow possible in places tomorrow evening, a messy weekend with accumulating snow possible, and then keeping an eye on next Thursday…

There will be a bit of snow tomorrow night in parts of our area with a trace to an inch of accumulation possible in places, followed by a warmer and nice Friday, then rain or snow showers Saturday as a cold front approaches and then passes through our area.

Sunday, there will be a chance of snow in the afternoon and early evening as a disturbance may develop in the cold air behind the cold front.

Monday through next Wednesday, January 22nd, will then be nice but very cold with lows possible getting below zero in parts of Northeastern PA Tuesday and next Wednesday.

Next Thursday, January 23rd, we will need to keep a very close eye on a disturbance that will be passing through the Southeastern United States. This disturbance could bring snow as far south as Georgia, with a few flakes even possible in Northern Florida Tuesday night. We will have to keep a very close eye on this disturbance to see if it phases with a disturbance that will be approaching from the west. If these two disturbances were to come together it would turn the disturbance over the Southeastern United States further northward and threaten our area with a significant snowstorm. Right now, it appears unlikely that these two disturbances will merge, but I will be watching it closely.

Next Friday, January 24th, through next Sunday, January 26th, are looking nice, followed by a chance for snow developing next Monday, January 27th and going into next Tuesday, January 28th.
