Significant snow likely in much of our area tomorrow evening into early Saturday and significant ice possible in parts of our area Sunday evening…
We remain along the boundary between warm air to the south and cold air to the north, with disturbances riding along this front late tomorrow into early Saturday and again Sunday night into Monday morning.
The first disturbance for late tomorrow into early Saturday will be mostly snow in much of our area as the frontal boundary will move just south of our area with a strong disturbance moving along the frontal boundary, bringing significant snow to much of our area late tomorrow into early Saturday.
Total possible snowfall accumulation:
Coating to 3 inches possible with some Sleet/Freezing Rain: Southeastern PA and Southern NJ
2-5 inches possible: East Central PA, Central NJ
4-6 inches possible: New York City
4-8 inches possible: Northeast PA, Northern NJ, Long Island
6-9 inches possible: Southeastern NY State and Fairfield County CT

Then we have to keep a close eye on another strong disturbance that will ride along the frontal boundary Sunday night into Monday morning, however this time the frontal boundary will be north of our area, allowing warmer air into our area, however it may still remain below freezing in Northeastern PA, and possibly into Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT. With the possibility of significant ice accumulation in Northeast PA, with some ice accumulation possible into East Central PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY and Fairfield County Ct, and rain elsewhere.
It will then get cold again after this disturbance passes, but as of right now it is uncertain as to exactly when the next disturbance will impact our area, so stay tuned.
