Quite a snowstorm on the way…
Two disturbances will merge along the Gulf Coast today and then
move northeastward, exiting the Middle Atlantic Coast tomorrow night. With the
fresh cold air in place today, this will cause snow to develop early tomorrow
morning from southwest to northeast across our area early tomorrow morning, becoming
heavy from the late morning into the evening, the snow will mix with or change
to sleet and freezing rain in the late afternoon and early evening in East
Central and Southeastern PA, NJ (excluding far NW NJ), far Southeastern NY
State, NYC, Long Island, and Fairfield County, CT, and to rain in Southern and
East Central NJ, and on much of Long Island (except near NYC). The precipitation will end by midnight Sunday
night in most locations.
Total possible snowfall accumulation prior to any
changeover:
8-12 inches: Southern Half of NJ
(roughly a line from Trenton East to Asbury Park)
12-16 inches: Southeastern PA,
Central NJ (roughly north of a line from Trento to Asbury Park to south of a
line from roughly Clinton, to Morristown, to Englewood Cliffs), NYC, Long
Island
15-20 inches: East Central and
Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, Fairfield County, CT
It will then be vary cold through next week and into the
following week with the potential for another snowstorm next Sunday into Monday…
