Thursday Morning's Weather Discussion
Today light rain or light snow will develop this morning and may very well change to light snow in all locations by the end of the day, and may accumulate as much as a dusting to an inch in lower elevations and 1-2 inches in the highest elevations. Temperatures will start out this morning in the lower 40’s but will drop after the precipitation starts to the middle to upper 30’s, then to the lower to middle 30’s this evening. Tomorrow and Saturday should be nice days but cool tomorrow, then on Sunday, there will be a slight chance of a shower as a cold front approaches our area, but Sunday will be quite mild with temperatures approaching 60 degrees. Then the questions and possibly the fun begin (if you like interesting weather). The cold front will sit very close to our area, probably just to the north, which would keep it just warm enough for it to be rain here on Monday and Tuesday as storm systems ride along the front and approach our area. However, there is a chance that the front could sink just south of our area which would cause it to be just cold enough for snow. This is especially true as we move into Wednesday when the strongest of the storms will approach our area. This storm on Wednesday has the potential to be strong, and to bring our area some significant rain or snow depending on the track that it ultimately takes. Many questions still need to be resolved with this situation next week. And, yes, I am still watching for the potential of a very significant storm system developing somewhere over the Eastern United States for Monday the 28th and Tuesday the 29th, that could bring heavy rain or snow depending on where and how the storm develops. Stay tuned.
