Tropical Storm Sandy is the Name of the Storm

The storm that may affect us early next week is Tropical Storm Sandy and she is currently located just off the north coast of South America.  She will move due north, off the East Coast, then we have to watch for the potential for her to merge with a piece of the Polar Vortex dropping down from Canada that would cause her to become one of the strongest storms in recorded history and to then come inland somewhere in the Northeastern United States.  She is currently forecast to make landfall on Long Island by the European model.  All the other models have her remaining out to sea.  Click here for the latest from the National Hurricane Center.
