Big Changes With the Short-Range American Model
The short-range American model just changed quite a bit and doubled our snowfall potential now to around 2 inches. It slowed down an important piece of energy that causes two of the pieces to partially come together. I talked about this earlier in my weather discussion. This is important because when that one piece slows down, it allows it to meet up with another piece of energy and form a bit more of a storm. If this energy slowed down even more, it could mean an even stronger storm, with more snow, so check back for updates. Right now, after this model run, I am going to update my snowfall forecast to 2 inches for ALL of Northern New Jersey, with 3-5 inches for Central New Jersey. It looks like the snow will begin sometime around 7am on Tuesday morning and end around 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.
