Good News For a Change!

This storm is not coming together as expected at all!  The models started backing off on the intensity of the storm yesterday and continue doing so today.  This is important because with less intensity the storm will remain further out to sea, reducing precipitation amounts and winds both.  It is now looking as if we will receive little precipitation, if any at all, as the two peices that are producing the storm are not coming together as the models expected.  The winds would also be lighter, at most, gusting to maybe 20-30mph.  With the lighter intensity of the precipitation the temperatures should remain in the middle 30's in most locations, which may be just warm enough to melt the snow that will be falling from the clouds and make it rain, or even if it does snow a bit on Wednesday afternoon and evening it may make it difficult or impossible for it to stick in many locations. It is even possible that the storm could miss us entirely to the East and just be a storm for the fish.  Right now, I will continue with a forecast of light rain or light snow developing in the afternoon on Wednesday around 3pm, changing to light snow, which could accumulate a dusting to 2 inches throughout Northern New Jersey before ending in the early morning hours before sunrise on Thursday.  The winds will now also be less of a factor. Remember, it is now even possible that this storm will miss us entirely out to sea, so stay tuned for updates later.
