Afternoon European Model Update

The afternoon run of the European model shows a dusting to an inch of accumulation of snow in our area tonight, and as far as the Christmas Eve into Christmas morning storm goes, it has moved the start time up to around 9pm on Christmas Eve, ending around 4-5am on Christmas morning with total accumulations throughout Northern New Jersey of around 4 inches.  It then starts the next storm around 12-1pm on Wednesday as snow, becoming heavy at times in the afternoon, then possibly mixing with or changing to sleet, freezing rain, or rain, and continuing through the night, prior to turning back to all snow early on Thursday morning and ending on Thursday afternoon.  Snowfall accumulations should range from 3-6 inches if the snow mixes with or changes to sleet, freezing rain, or rain, and there is also the possibility of some significant icing.  If the snow does not mix, total accumulations would be around a foot.  Then we are likely to get another 1-3 inches of snow next Saturday night into Sunday morning, then we will have to watch for another strong storm on New Years Day, or the day after New Years.
