The next storm to affect our area will move in tomorrow
night, and there is a chance that the precipitation could start as snow in some
locations, prior to changing to heavy rain that will end on Friday
morning. It will then get quite cold
behind this storm, with a chance of snow showers on Friday night and Saturday
that could leave some locations with a dusting to an inch of snow. It will then be cold through Christmas Day,
with the lows getting into the teens on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. On
Christmas Eve, there is a chance that another weak storm may approach our area,
and if it does reach us by Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, it would start
as snow and give us a white Christmas.
Another much stronger storm will then approach for next Wednesday and
Thursday, bringing a chance of rain or snow, depending on the track that the
storm takes. This storm will need to be watched closely. The next storm after that will approach our
area for New Year’s Day, and this storm will again likely be quite intense. We will have to closely watch the tracks of both
the Christmas and New Year’s Day storms to determine whether we are going to
get rain or snow, but at least we have a chance at a white Christmas.
