Interesting Possibilities for Next Thursday

There are some interesting possibilities for next Thursday, but first this storm will move out shortly this evening with mainly a dusting in most locations.  We then need to look towards the weak storm heading our way on Monday that could start as early as Monday morning as some light snow, then changing to light freezing rain or drizzle and continue into early Tuesday morning.  This weak storm on Monday does have the potential to create some travel problems, so be sure to check back for updates.  Then we need to look forward to the possibility of a strong storm developing in our area next Thursday.  I talked a bit about this possibility earlier today and it is starting to look even more interesting now, as the American model has just finally been starting to notice this idea.  The prior two runs of the European model had indicated the possibility of a storm developing along the Gulf Coast and possibly moving in our direction up the East Coast for next Friday.  This afternoon's run of the European model somewhat dropped the storm, although it clearly hinted at the continued possibility, but a day earlier for Thursday.  Then this evening's run of the American model just came out, and while the main operational run of the American model does not show this storm, looking more closely at it's 12 ensemble members, 6 out of 12 members look like the main operational run, but the other 6 look completely different ,and produce at least some snow here on Thursday.  2 of the ensemble members produce a weak snowstorm next Thursday, but more interestingly, 4 out of 12 of the members produce a very strong storm right off the NJ Coast on Thursday within 24 hours of each other, with 2 of them in the exact same location, with the exact same intensity, at the exact same time.  I find this highly interesting and to be a strong signal for a possible Nor'easter here next Thursday.  This is not a guarantee, it is just an interesting possibility that I wanted to share with all of you.  Let us see how this works out, but honestly, to me, this looks like a real strong signal when a model can produce 2 ensemble members out of 12 with a storm in the exact same spot, at the exact same time, and at the exact same intensity, 6 days away.  We shall see.  Check back for my next update tomorrow morning.  Have a nice evening.
