A Lull in the Storm
Most of Northern New Jersey is currently in a lull between the two storms that are still phasing. The main storm and it's associated precipitation had moved just east of most of us, but it is now starting to swing back to the west. At the same time, a band of heavy snow has also formed and is moving eastward from eastern Pennsylvania. These two areas of precipitation will merge over the next couple of hours, bringing heavy snow back to the entire area over night. So, don't be mistaken and think the storm has passed, it has not. This lull was shown on the models and was expected. When the snow starts back up shortly, it will again snow heavily until the early morning hours tomorrow. I am definitely starting to think that many of us may get on the lower end of my projections, but I see that Wayne, NJ already has 8 inches, so we shall see how it all works out. I am not sure that these storms have phased quite quickly enough to bring us big snowfall amounts as I had been thinking, but who knows what we will see when we wake up. Mother Nature has her way, I just try to figure out what she is going to do.
