The latest run of the American model now brings the
Nor'easter slightly further west, now bringing light snow back into our area
this afternoon as it starts to develop near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The
snow could accumulate to a dusting to an inch this afternoon and tonight across
Northern New Jersey, with 1-3 inches possible for the southern half of New
Jersey and from New York City east to western Long Island and north into
western Connecticut and western Massachusetts. Then 3-6 inches for central
Long Island, central Connecticut, and central Massachusetts, and 6-12 inches
for eastern Long Island, eastern Connecticut and eastern Massachusetts with
blizzard conditions likely, with more than a foot possible for Rhode Island,
and Southeastern Massachusetts from the Boston area through Cape Cod, where up
to 18 inches are possible, again with blizzard conditions.
