We are setting up for a very active next 2 weeks of weather
in Northern New Jersey. The first storm
of concern will enter our area late in the day tomorrow, brining a slight
chance of some light snow or flurries tomorrow night, followed by rain or snow
developing on Saturday morning, then changing to rain and continuing through
the night on Saturday, before possibly turning back to snow before ending on
Sunday morning. After this, another
similar storm will approach on Tuesday, again likely starting as snow on
Tuesday afternoon, then changing to sleet, then to rain on Tuesday evening and continuing
through the night before ending on Wednesday morning. Then the big question is whether a storm will
develop along the East Coast for the end of next week? It looks likely that a storm will develop,
but the details are very much in question as to where the storm will develop
and how strong it will be, so for now I just put a chance of snow showers in
the forecast for next Thursday through Monday, as any storm that develops will
stall out for days. If the storm remains
weak as the models are showing this morning it would allow temperatures to warm
into the low to mid 40’s during the day, but it would still be cold enough in
the upper atmosphere that any showers would be in the form of snow, then it
would warm up between the snow showers.
Of course, there is also the chance of a much stronger Nor’easter
forming and this would mean much colder temperatures, and much more snow if it
did occur, so check back for updates.
