Thursday, February 28th, 2013 Evening Weather Discussion
There are no changes from this morning. It still looks as if a very strong Nor'easter will form next Tuesday night near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The question then is whether this storm will move east and go out to sea without affecting our area, or will come north and bring us a major snowstorm or blizzard for next Wednesday and Thursday. Yes, this storm absolutely does have blizzard potential, BUT it could very easily miss us completely. Every single major piece of the puzzle for a major Nor'easter to form along the East Coast is there for next week. The only remaining question at this point is whether this storm will simply move east and miss us, or come up the coast. There will be plenty of cold air available for this storm next week as well, so if it does come this far north it would almost certainly be snow. Check back in the morning for the latest information.
