Thursday, February 28th, 2013 - Morning Weather Discussion

We will still have a chance of some rain or snow showers through the day today, and then the next storm we need to watch for will approach from the west and reach Cape Hatteras, North Carolina on Tuesday night. The question then will be, does it come north from there and bring us a significant snowstorm for Wednesday and Thursday, or does it go due east and head out to sea, missing us completely?  This storm is likely to turn into a strong Nor’easter but it is just too early to tell whether it will turn north up the coast.  The prior two runs of the European model brought us a significant snowstorm, but this last run keeps the storm just south and east of us, missing us completely.  It will probably take a couple of more days before we know for sure how far north this storm will come, so check back for updates.  After this storm passes, it now looks as it thing will warm up for the next weekend, with a chance of rain, then it will get cold again behind that storm.  Be sure to check back tonight for an update on the mid-week storm potential.
