Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 Evening Weather Discussion
The weather pattern over the next 2 weeks continues to be very favorable for a significant East Coast storm or a Nor'easter. Every single major piece of the puzzle is now in place as of today. The only thing needed now is a storm to move into our area, and it appears that this will happen for the middle of next week. The European model has been indicating on the past two runs now that a very significant Nor'easter will develop and could affect our area on Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. There do however remain questions as to where this storm will develop and how much of an effect it will have on us here in Northern New Jersey and the New York City area. Some of the ensemble members of the American model are indicating this possibility now as well. It does look as if any storm next week would be an all-snow event, as unseasonably cold air will be moving into our area next week, and this storm will be remaining to our south, thereby locking the cold air in place. I will keep a close eye on this potential and let you know more in the morning.
