Tonight a weak storm system will approach our area, bringing
some light snow or flurries, starting between 4pm and 7pm and ending around
midnight. Total accumulations of a
dusting to an inch are possible. Then
the big question is what will happen this weekend? Right now it is looking less likely that
there will be a big storm this weekend, however there is quite a divergence in
the models. The British, Canadian, and U.S. Navy models produce a big snowstorm
throughout the Northeast this weekend, and then on the other end of the
spectrum are the European, American, and Japanese models that only bring us
some light snow and flurries. It all
depends upon how several pieces of energy interact along the East Coast this
weekend. The pattern itself is quite
ominous, but the pieces to this puzzle remain over the Pacific Ocean where data
sampling is sparse, so we may not know what is going to happen for another day
or so. The American model did just make
a significant trend toward developing a more important storm in our area this
weekend on the run that just came out, so we definitely need to keep a close
eye on this potential. Then moving into
next week, we will likely see some rain on Tuesday, and then the snow potential
that I have been talking about for a week already is still there for next
Friday. Check back for updates.
