Today we will have variably cloudy skies with a chance of
showers and thunderstorms, and the same tomorrow although tomorrow will likely
be a little nicer day. Sunday should be
quite a bit nicer although there will still be a slight chance of a shower or
thunderstorm but the high will reach the low to mid 80’s. Currently Tropical Storm Karen is in the Gulf
of Mexico and she will head north making landfall somewhere between the Louisiana
Coast and the Florida Panhandle this weekend.
She will then head north, combining forces with an approaching cold
front to bring us showers and thunderstorms on Monday which could be heavy at
times on Monday night. Last night it had
looked as if this storm might then stall out in our area and bring us an ugly
week next week, however, it now appears that this storm will be pushed out to
sea late on Monday night, clearing us out and keeping us dry and cooler for Tuesday through Friday. Next weekend a chance for
showers and thunderstorms will return as another cold front approaches and the
showers and thunderstorms could be heavy at times on Sunday night and could
linger into Monday. After that front
passes things should clear out, but remain quite cool.
