Thursday, October 3rd, 2013 - Morning Weather Discussion
We will have one more absolutely beautiful day today with a high around 80. Tomorrow through Sunday will remain warm with highs in the upper 70’s tomorrow, around 80 on Saturday, and in the mid 80’s on Sunday, although there will be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day. Currently, a tropical disturbance is entering the Gulf of Mexico and will develop into a Tropical Storm or Hurricane prior to making landfall somewhere between New Orleans, Louisiana and Panama City, Florida, most likely near Pensacola, Florida, early on Sunday morning. The remnants of this storm will then move northeast rapidly and combine forces with an approaching cold front to bring us heavy showers and thunderstorm on Monday and Monday night which could produce some flash flooding in our area. After this storm and cold front pass through things will dry out but remain warm from Tuesday through next Sunday. Then the following Monday another cold front will approach our area, bringing the chance for more heavy showers and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday of the week after next. After that cold front passes we may cool down substantially as another tropical system starts to enter the Gulf of Mexico. We will likely need to keep an eye on that one as well.
