European Model Update

The European model holds the storm back until Friday and by then the temperatures have warmed up enough that the precipitation would be rain.  The models actually look very similar up until about Wednesday morning, then the European model simply holds the storm back a bit and that is enough to allow the warm air to move in to our area.  It now appears to simply be a timing issue and we will just have to wait and see how all this works out.  We are still out a bit too far to get too much into details.  At this range we just have to take the situation for what it is, and that is one in which we will likely be getting a storm towards the middle to end of next week and we will just have to see how all this works itself out.  It now appears clear that if the storm moves in on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday it would be snow, but if it is delayed until Friday it would be rain.  The one thing I will say is that the European model does often delay the storms too much in this time frame, so I would not be very surprised if it is too delayed with it, but not sure by how much.  The next update will be issued later this afternoon or early this evening after the European Control model run comes in and then again around 6pm after the next run of the American model.  Check back for updates.
