American Model Update
The evening run of the American model really has peaked my interest here as it has nearly the same result as it's prior run with some snow in our area on Wednesday. It JUST misses us to the east with a powerful Nor'easter. We really need to keep a close eye on this situation for next Wednesday. It is truly amazing how nearly identical these two runs were and that is something to make a note of. It is entirely possible that the European model is just too slow with the energy coming across the country that would produce this powerful Nor'easter. Of course the European model could be right too, and that would mean nothing for us until the end of the week when things warm up. This run of the American model has near blizzard conditions just to the east out in the ocean and for southeastern New England on Wednesday. It has only a touch of light snow or flurries for us on Wednesday as it remains just a bit too far to the east. Honestly though, we are just too far out in time and no model is particularly good this far out, so check back for updates. To give you an idea of the temperatures with this storm. The American model has temperatures remaining in the low 30's all day on Wednesday, then dropping to the low to mid 20's late on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with temperatures dropping into the teens in Pennsylvania and down to the single digits in West Virginia. As I said, the polar vortex may be giving us a visit next week and this will be an arctic cold front.
