OK, Take a Seat - Here We Go
The late night run of the American model came out and has NO STORM at all. Then the European model comes out early this morning and has a BLIZZARD for late Wednesday night into Thursday early afternoon for an area from Eastern North Carolina, Eastern Virginia, Eastern Maryland, Delaware, Southeastern Pennsylvania, ALL OF NEW JERSEY, Southeastern New York, New York City, Long Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Eastern Maine where it depicts high winds and 1-2 FEET of blowing snow. It has the bull's eye of nearly 2 feet of accumulations over Central and Northeast New Jersey and New York City. The Canadian model is the only other model to show any snow for us at all at the moment, but it has nothing like what the European model has and it is a day earlier with the snow. The European model even has light snow all day on Tuesday and Wednesday after the arctic front pushes through our area and as the storm just starts to slowly develop along the Middle Atlantic Coast. So, it now appears that we either get nothing, or a blizzard and there is not much chance of anything in between. As is usually the case with such intense and dramatic storms, either you get the full furry of the storm, or you get nothing. By the way did any of you see or hear about the Typhoon hitting the Philippines now? It is one of the strongest typhoons EVER recorded with maximum sustained winds of 195 mph last night and wind gusts recorded of 235 mph!. Maybe this has something to do with this model insanity? Click here to view a looping image of one of the strongest Typhoons ever recorded on the planet, although it has recently lost some of its strength after hitting the Philippines head on. And Click here to view the story on CNN and watch a video. Full forecast coming up shortly. Tell all your family and friends about the blog.
