Thursday, November 7th, 2013 - Evening Weather Discussion

The afternoon run of the European Control model has a nearly perfect track for a snowstorm here in Northern New Jersey, taking a track just as I outlined in my thoughts in the last post.  It starts to develop the Nor'easter over Florida on Wednesday and slowly tracks due north while strengthening into a potent Nor'easter.  The track would be nearly perfect for a snowstorm in our area as it comes due north to the Virginia Capes, then heads northeast, remaining about 50 miles off the coast.  The track would almost definitely ensure a heavy snowstorm in our area. Meanwhile our beloved American model is on another planet altogether, bringing us some snow showers on Tuesday with the passage of the cold front, then pushing the storm WAY out into the ocean for the fish.  The European model and the American model are on two different planets.  Anyone who reads this blog knows how much I loathe our model.  It is most likely WRONG.  I am not saying that the European model is completely correct either, as the storm is still 7 days away, but I am fairly certain it is going to end up being much closer to what happens than our wonderful American model.  Check back for updates tomorrow morning.  Have a nice evening everyone!
