Thursday Mid-Day Run of the American Model
The American model continues to miss us just the south and east with the storm, which is a known bias of the model in this time range. It still produces a significant Nor'easter but it keeps it to our south and east, bringing snow to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, then heading out to sea just to our east. While this a known bias of the model it is not impossible that the storm could actually do this and miss us, so stay tuned and lets see what the other models say as they start to roll in over the next couple of hours. The most interesting model of all will again be the European model as it has the highest degree of accuracy in this time range and it is far superior to the American model or any other model for that matter. It is the most accurate because it is run at the highest resolution of any model, meaning it breaks the analysis of the atmosphere down into smaller segments than any other model, which allows it to reduce the amount of errors, increasing accuracy. As a result, this model takes longer to run than any other model and is the last to come out. It won't be out far enough for me to give you any feedback on what it shows until around 1:15-1:30, so check back. I may post before then though when some of the other models come out.
