European Model Update!!!!!!!!
The European model said I would get 2.5 inches at my location. The snow has ended at my location. I just measured...... 2.5 inches. The new run just came out and it drops temperatures down into the mid to upper single digits tomorrow morning. Then....it has made the coming weekend storm into a full-blown Nor'easter, just as I highlighted as being a possibility in this morning's discussion. With the storm intensify this much, this rapidly, and taking a track just off shore of New Jersey on Saturday night, it brings us an all snow event on this run. The snow would start lightly around midday on Saturday and get heavier in the evening on Saturday, becoming very heavy on Saturday night and into early on Sunday, finally ending around midday on Sunday. It shows total accumulations of around a FOOT throughout Northern New Jersey, Southeastern New York, and right into New York City. The European model does indeed start getting very good within the 5 day range that we are in now, so this is a very real possibility. However, the slightest change in intensity can bring us a mix instead, with much lower accumulations, or possibly even more snow if the storm were to intensify even quicker. The model then shows extremely cold temperatures for next Tuesday with lows possibly dropping below zero next Tuesday morning. Then the model shows the possibility of another Nor'easter for the following Tuesday and Wednesday although it mostly misses us just to the east on this run. Even still it shows light snow from next Tuesday afternoon through the day on Wednesday as the Nor'easter moves very slowly off shore. I am quite concerned about this potential storm as well and we need to keep a very close eye on it. This storm definitely has the possibility of becoming something extremely significant as well. The question will be whether it will be one for the fish mainly or if we have a big snowstorm from next Tuesday through Thursday. Yes, it will be moving that slowly, although as I said, at the moment the model has it mostly off shore with just some light snow for us next Tuesday afternoon through the day on Wednesday. I will be anxiously awaiting the European model ensemble mean that comes out later today. Stay tuned and please tell all your family, friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers about this blog. Thank you.
