We will have showers during the day today with slowly dropping
temperatures to the upper 30’s by early afternoon, then the rain will start to
mix with sleet around sunset, changing to sleet between 7 pm and 10 pm, then
changing to snow by around midnight to 2 am.
Total accumulations of a dusting to 4 inches are possible from southeast
to northwest across Northern New Jersey.
The snow will end by 4 am with mostly sunny skies during the day. On Sunday the clouds will increase again,
with light snow starting to fall between 6 pm and 10 pm. The light snow will change to sleet, then
freezing rain in the early morning hours.
Total accumulations of a dusting to 2 inches are possible from southeast
to northwest across Northern New Jersey prior to the changeover to rain. The
freezing rain will change to rain between 4 am and 7 am from southeast to
northwest across the region. We will
then have showers the rest of the day on Monday. On Tuesday morning another storm may brush us
with a dusting of snow again. Then it
will be nice but very cold for Wednesday through Friday, with lows possibly
reaching the single digits in some locations and highs only in the 20’s on
Wednesday and especially Thursday. It
will then warm up a bit next Saturday,
getting into the 30’s, but then we will again have a chance of rain or snow for
Saturday night through Monday as a storm will be developing along the Gulf
Coast. It will then head up the coast,
possibly becoming a Nor’easter for next Sunday and Monday. This
is an extremely active and volatile weather pattern with storms possible every
few days and a lot of cold air readily available to drop down over us at any
time. Check back for updates and tell
all of your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to check here for the
latest information.
