Tomorrow morning low temperatures will drop to
around zero, with a high tomorrow only in the low to mid teens. Tuesday
night there will be a chance of some flurries or a little light snow as a storm
system that will be bringing the Deep South a significant snowstorm should remain
just to our east. After this storm passes it brings us a
bit of light snow on Friday, then rain showers on Saturday and Saturday night
with a high in the mid to upper 40's. The cold front will then come
through early on Sunday morning with a chance of a snow shower or flurry, and then
things will clear out by Sunday afternoon just in time for the Super Bowl.
Game time temperatures should be around 30, dropping into the 20's during
the game. Then a big storm will move into our area starting on Tuesday of
next week. I CURRENTLY HAVE MAJOR CONCERNS ABOUT THIS STORM!!! I have taken a closer look at things this
evening and based upon my data analysis system it is looking highly likely that
we will be getting a significant winter weather event next Tuesday and
Wednesday, possibly into Thursday. Right
now it is impossible to tell whether this will be a mixture of rain, snow, or
freezing rain but I must say that it currently looks highly likely that this
will be a mixture of frozen or freezing precipitation, possibly snow or
freezing rain. If this storm ends up
being all snow it would be about 12-18 inches over two days. If it is all freezing rain it would be a
crippling ice storm over two days. Of course it could end up being all rain,
but at the moment that is looking unlikely. The reason next week will get so crazy is that
the arctic front will stall out to our south and areas of low pressure will be developing
along the Gulf Coast and riding along the front. They will have copious amounts of moisture to
work with from the Gulf of Mexico, unlike the majority of the storms we
have seen recently. There may be more
storms after this as well for the following weekend and the middle of the
following week. Next week may be the
real deal. Get ready to start sounding
the alarms.
