European Model Update for Wednesday Night and Thursday

It has a storm that comes very close to meeting blizzard classification in the Northern New Jersey and New York City area, putting Northern New Jersey and New York City right in the main band, with 12-18 inches of snow, with localized amounts of 18-24 inches and winds gusting up to 40 mph.  The snow would start about 10 pm on Wednesday night and end around 1 am on Friday morning. Wow.  It absolutely reaches blizzard classification in New England, and comes very close in our area.

The 12-18 inch with local amounts of 18-24 inches runs from Western and Central Virginia up through Western Maryland and directly over Washington D.C. and Baltimore, South Central and Eastern Pennsylvania (including Philadelphia), New Jersey (excluding Southeastern Coastal Sections), Southeastern New York State, New York City, Long Island, and all of New England except far Northern Maine.

Heavy and paralyzing freezing rain will fall in Northern Georgia, Northern and Western South Carolina, most of North Carolina (excluding Northeastern North Carolina).  People in many of those areas will be without power for days if not a week a more.

YOU WILL BE HEARING ABOUT THIS STORM ON THE NATIONAL HEADLINES ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY!!!

Then it has a bit more snow on Friday night, Sunday, and again on  Monday night and Tuesday.
